World Weddings
A new series that examines the institution of marriage around the world, told through the stories of couples in different cultures. Various episodes explore issues such as gay marriage, religious divides and conflicts between modernism and tradition. The series launches on Friday, 4/8 with the following two films:

This Czech band formed in 1999 while some of the members were only sixteen (the average age is now nineteen!). Not EXACTLY a girl group (there are two males in the quintet) the three females (Marta Svobodov� - guitar/vocal, Dasha Mat�j��kov� - bass and Eva Svobodov� - violin/vocal) are most emphatically up front. Stepan Svoboda plays drums/microphone and Ondra Kl�� plays guitar/microphone. This impressively imaginative video is by lead singer and bandleader Marta Svobodov�.� She calls her videos "kukohyby" ("watch-moves") and she directs and records them herself. The lyric simply tells of a dream about trees, but the video turns it into a dream within a dream, in which one prisoner can escape his cell�.at least, when he dreams.

"I really think these types of programs on Understanding Islam is a great way to start bridging the gap between Muslims and non-Muslims in this country.� It's nice to see fair, balanced programs on the current state of Islam and the rest of the world...Continue to have programs that allow people to understand Islam will only increase the level of mutual trust and empathy for all Americans.� It is always better to be informed rather than live in ignorance."
