Perhaps the UNITED NATIONS SHOULD BE OVERHAULED completely,to actually become a functioning,RESPECTED and FEARED institution,by those who would wish to usurp it's power,RULES AND REGULATIONS otherwise its present function is about as honest as the Russian Mafia!

Who do you think runs the UN? Not the member states! The UN is a tool of the globalist Zionist agenda of world domination. If anyone ever needed a graphic definition of toothlessness, all one has to do is look at a photo of the UN General Assembly.

Why is it that Cyprus can be occupied by UN peacekeeping troops for almost 50 years, but no peacekeeping troops are allowed to police Israel and the Occupied Territories?

Why do UN-affiliated financial institutions (IMF, World Bank)wreak economic destruction on the 3rd world through predatory lending practices, which result in increased resource extraction and social devastation for the local populace?

The UN is just like this and every other comment site on the Web- a place for people to blow off steam and pretend like they're making a difference while the people really in control keep on exploiting and destroying.

Another worthless resolution from the UN concerning Israel? They'll just put it in their collection of "UN resolutions we like to Ignore".

If the UN really wanted to help the Gazans, it should pass a resolution that states the UN considers Gaza to be in a war of self-defense and that the UN considers whatever Gaza has to do to protect itself to be OK. It should state that Hamas is the legitimate government of Palestine and as such has the right to prosecute a war against Israel according to the Geneva convention.

If the UN really wanted to do something worthwhile, it would ban the US and Israel from its assembly as rogue states and carry out its mission without the inevitable veto from the US.

There is no food crisis. It has been ginned up by the financial elite who have taken cheap Federal Reserve money that was supposed to go to increases in credit supplies, and used it instead to buy commodities. Meanwhile, working people in the US continue to lose their homes, and working people in the rest of the world die of starvation, while thousands of metric tonnes of food sit in warehouses, waiting for prices to keep skyrocketing.

Ultimately, all of these shenanigans are used by the Zionists who control the world money system to keep Israel afloat.

I think it is absolutely IMPERATIVE that the UN push as one of their priorities,not just the problem of food crises in Africa/Asia etc BUT ALSO that they shine a bright torch on the illegal starvation in Gaza being methodically instigated by Israel TOO!
For far too long the UN have ignored,or given perfunctory mention of the ILLEGAL AND IMMORAL GENOCIDE AND ETHNIC CLEANSING that Israel CONTINUE to impose on the population of Gaza(50% of whom are BELOW 18 YRS OLD).
The United Nations cannot fairly look at,or openly debate,Africa or Asia WITHOUT addressing every UN REGULATION THAT Israel ALSO continue to blatant ABUSE in their voluntary treatment of Palestinians!
They want to address the WORLD food price/shortage crisis?
Then,this has to INCLUDE what is being done to the Palestinian people and HOW THEIR fellow Arabian neighbours STILL choose NOT TO BE VISIBLY OUTRAGED IN WORD AND DEED enough to take a stand FOR their Arab brothers and sisters.
One does NOT HAVE TO BE A MUSLIM,to see that this catastrophy is A SIN AGAINST GOD's very words!
